Three events, four days, a true test of skill, fitness, nerve and endurance.

Friday/Saturday 29/30 January - DH (incorporating the MTBNZ Cup 2016).

Sunday 31 January - Old Skool XC - one big loop taking in a full range of Nelson's best trails.

Monday 1 February - a proper tough enduro, grade 5 trails, burning brakes, all day in the saddle.

$7000 in prizes including:

$1000 cash - first female Top Gun

$1000 cash - first male Top Gun

Giant Reign 27.5 2 spot prize

Loads of Giant/Sprig & Fern spot prizes

Riders can choose to ride in one, two or all three events.

The best results from two events counts towards the Top Gun Overall

DH - Kaka (Sharlands) - incorporating the MTBNZ National Series.

XC- a super cool single loop taking in all the best Codgers trails. The race will take about 90 minutes. Full course details to come.

Enduro - three stages. Each stage is grade 5, steep, rooty, challenging, long and a mad amount of fun. Peaking Ridge, 629, Maitai Face.

Stuff you need to know:

Riders entering two or more events are eligible to be ranked in the Top Gun competition and will be eligible for the Giant Reign 27.5 2 complete bike spot prize.

IF you only want to ride 1 event that's cool. Just enter the events you want (but, why not do all of them and really test yourself)

Yes - there is a shuttle to the start of the first Enduro stage - but after that you're on your own. It costs $10 extra (tick the box on the entry form)

To enter the DH you need to do that on the MTBNZ website - click here

To enter the XC and/or Enduro you need to do that here

There is a discount if you enter two or three events - that is worked out on the registration page.

See MTBNZ website for DH safety equipment requirements - the DH is run to UCI rules

For the Enduro we recommend a full face and pads - but you ride at your own risk so it's up to you (last year we had a few bashed bodies so come ready for action)
